Qualifying Conditions for Medical Marijuana

To qualify to receive a prescription recommendation for medical cannabis under Florida Law a person must:

  1. be a Florida resident or Seasonal resident
  2. Have a diagnosis for one or more of the following debilitating medical conditions or a related condition

Qualifying Medical Conditions

  1. Cancer
  2. Epilepsy
  3. HIV
  4. AIDS
  5. PTSD
  6. ALS
  7. Crohn's Disease
  8. Parkinson's Disease
  9. Muliple Sclerosis
  10. *medical conditions of the same kind or class or are comparable to those enumerated in the above (A)-(J)
  11. a terminal condition diagnosed by a physician other than the qualified physician issuing the physician certification. (less than one year prognosis).
  12. Chronic non-malignant pain, defined in SB-8a as “pain that is caused by a qualifying medical condition or that originates from a qualifying medical condition and persists beyond the usual course of that qualifying medical condition.”

Examples of (K)* conditions include, but are not limited to: Painful muscle spasms, Chronic low back pain with muscle spasms, Generalized Anxiety Disorder with or without Panic Attacks, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and related bowel disorders, Debilitating Headaches, Autism with disabling Anxiety Component, fibromyalgia, Dementia or Alzheimer’s with disabling Anxiety Component, nerve pain or neuropathies, Non-Parkinson’s tremors, muscular dystrophy or other muscle disorders if accompanied by painful muscle spasm.
