Dr. Mechoulam is credited with discovering the THC molecule in marijuana and the endo-cannabinoid system in the human body. This revolutionized the medical industry, changing it for the better.

There were three main parts to his research, which include determining the chemistry of the plant, studying endocannabinoids, and researching the differences and similarities between the natural endocannabinoids we produce versus the cannabis compounds.

In his research on the history of medical cannabis, Dr. Mechoulam tells us that people long ago used cannabis in the same ways we use it currently: to promote wellness. Dr. Mechoulam believes these cannabis compounds and our endocannabinoid system are of utmost importance; he believes cannabinoid compounds are not being used enough in our healthcare clinics and we need to change this. Medical Cannabis has incredible potential to promote wellness among many people.
